About us

The Gdańsk Film Commission has been operating as part of the City Culture Institute since 2022. We are backed by experience acquired in this institution, which has been active in Gdańsk since 2011.

We support cinematographic and television productions and help filmmakers move freely around Gdańsk – in terms of obtaining the required permits, seeking and accessing public locations, and benefiting from the services of local filmmaking businesses.

We work with municipal officials, the police, the fire service and city guards. We have contacts with many institutions, which is why we can help streamline formalities and municipal procedures.

We regularly seek out and catalogue locations that showcase the city’s cinematographic potential. With our Locations Database (link), you can discover potential filming locations by category. The list is systematically updated and enlarged.

We also aim to develop the audio-visual sector and facilitate accessing local service providers. To this end, we have created a Company Database (link) with companies and specialists from the film sector and the relevant service providers (accommodation, catering, etc.).

The Gdańsk Film Commission works closely with the Gdańsk Film Fund. The fund, launched in 2022, organises an annual competition where producers may receive funding for feature, documentary and animated films. GFF participates in the selected projects as co-producer with a financial contribution.
